Has anyone used Units Online for their kitchen?

Just that really. We're planning our renovation and had been considering getting the kitchen from DIY kitchens as so many MNetters rate them. However, they don't do a true handleless kitchen, only J-pull handleless, and I'm not sure if that will work (I've heard that J-pull can be awkward to open).

Units Online do several true handleless kitchens so I was hoping that someone on here may have got their kitchen from them and could tell me what they thought of the company and the quality of the kitchen. Thanks

We have. We used DIY Kitchens about 7yrs ago, then extended about 4 yrs ago and used UO because I preferred one of their kitchens despite having been pleased with the DIY kitchen (and put the DIY kitchen in the utility). We have a Burbidge Petworth inframe kitchen - the service was great, I dealt with a guy called Tony who checked the design / order etc. Still love the kitchen, quality is very good. Would recommend.

Just out of interest, the DIY Kitchen is handleless (but the Luca design, not true handlesless) but it's coming up for 8 years old now and still looks pretty much new.

Hi, we used UO for our kitchen in 2020. I'm in 2 minds as to whether I'd recommend. The kitchen is nice. We found them great to deal with UNTIL they had full payment, and since then they've not met my expectations.

They never gave us a detailed technical drawing for our fitter to work from - I've ordered kitchens from Howdens and Magnet before, and both give technical drawings as standard, but UO claimed that our order was (just!) below the £5K threshold so didn't qualify for them to give one?!

The lack of technical drawing meant our fitter had nothing to refer to except a mock up of the finished kitchen. As a result he made a very understandable mistake about which panel goes where, and cut into the wrong part.

I've been trying ever since to get a replacement piece from UO - happy to pay for it obviously! - and can't get any customer service from them to get it sorted.

Pretty unhappy all told. The £4,900 order - such small fry to UO! - was more than we spent both Magnet and Howdens and their customer service after delivery was considerably better - in fact one item from Magnet arrived damaged and they couriered a replacement to us same day at no charge. Units Online won't even answer an email or return a call once they have your cash... :(

My friend was in the same boat as you a couple of years ago. She went with this company and hasn't stopped raving about them since. I think they're better quality than Units Online too so would be worth looking. Hope you find something soon x

Thanks for the replies.

That's pretty shocking @WoolyMammoth55. So you haven't got a replacement after 2 years? The customer service problems are a shame if the kitchen quality is good.

Hiya, we're also in the process of deciding on a kitchen and will most likely go with better kitchens, because they offer true handleless kitchens and our builder has recommended them. I love the true handleless look but a part of me is worried that the channel opening might be difficult to access and hurt my hands, the other limitation is that you can't get pull out larders with true handless, which I would love to have for spices and cereal. Anyhow, I'm off to visit the BK showroom in Weston-Super-Mare next Friday to hopefully help me make up my mind.
