Question about Newbuilds

I am currently toying between buying an older property or succumbing for the shiny new build development on the edge of a lovely village. The new build development has just launched (2 weeks ago) and as of yet only one house is reserved. I was a bit shocked at the prices listed and was expecting these would be flying of the shelves (its a Redrow development and I understood these are quite popular). Should I wait a bit longer or do they drop the price? Nervous about reserving only to find prices lowered later down the line.

Mine is £191 for gas and electric in a good size 4 bedroom house. £50 of that is because I was underpaying for a long time (I was switched from Green energy who went bust).
I have a solar panel.

I love our Redrow house if it helps.

Ohhh, love an old thread that is still relevent, glad I found this one! 😁

We bought a Redrow Cambridge last year, great houses and most of the time they (Redrow) have been very good. Long lead time (we reserved when the house was only foundations) so we had to wait 12-months.
We reserved and (like a PP), later they started listing things that were to be included FOC (not incentives as such as it was a done deal as far as we were concerned), even the sales lady seemed surprised at what they were allowed to include.
Garage side door & electrics, dishwasher, Amtico in kitchen/family room, utility, hall & cloakroom plus a couple of other items that have now slipped my mind.

Consider what extras to go for, not always cheaper to order from RR but the distribution of adding them later was just not worth it IMO.

Wow! What an amazing coincidence that all these satisfied Redrow buyers happened to come along!

What an odd comment.

RR does not get mentioned much so it is no surprise that owners will latch onto a thread.
Maybe the fact that most posters appear to be very happy goes to show that they are indeed one of the better housebuilders?
