Kitchen planning help

We’re getting there with kitchen designs and although I initially wanted more drawers, I didn’t like how it ended up looking so this seems to me (and dh) to work best for the space. Having more drawers would lose the much wanted larder so that’s my compromise.

I’ve never done this before so keen to see it through different eyes.

Small bit of work top has gone and it’s now a full height pantry (what I originally asked for and was told it won’t fit). 800mm width means light can stay where it is. Larder has now gone so we have more workspace to the left of the sink. Thank you for giving me the confidence to push for what I really want. Now to deal with Neff oven shortage as fitter has a cancellation and can do it mid May!

Sounds much more practical and you sound happier.
I have the most horrendously designed kitchen so I am very excited to one day get it redone.
I will be on here to show everyone as the tips have been good.

@Blogblogblogblog I’m quite lucky as I do like my current layout so it’s very similar other than the pantry and a more accessible top corner cupboard, and eye height oven. I’m waiting for final prices and feel frustrated it takes them days to do anything but I think the price will be similar to initial quote so I’m not expecting surprises.

Posting an update. Howdens designer begrudgingly changed cupboard with worktop and cupboard over to a pantry but it wasn’t what he wanted (he’s not living here). Anyway, we decided to get a local independent company to design and quote and the price for painted oak doors is very similar to Howdens. Company will organise all trades and so we’re going with them. Work due to start in August (could have been July but we have family staying so that wasn’t workable). Can’t believe it’s taken so long but I’m glad we shopped around. Sounds like we could haggle with Howdens but quite honestly I can’t think of anything worse. Their prices feel like they spin a lucky wheel and pick a number.

I'm posting because I’d originally assumed Howdens would be cheaper than an independent company but that’s not the case.

How exciting @NeedAHoliday2021

We had a similar experience but with magnet, and the local independent wooden kitchen company was minimally more expensive than the flat pack!
