Painting a Property for sale

We have a period flat that has been let for a number of years and empty since last October. It needs a new coat of paint and also new carpets to tart it up to help with the sale- it looks tired. What colour paint would you recommend? I was thinking something like Dulux Timeless all round, what about woodwork is gloss out and satinwood instead? And then carpets- cream throughout? My only concern is if we end up letting it, those colours may not be particularly lettings friendly.

Personally I'd blast everything with white. We were snowblind when we bought ours. It hides a multitude of sins. And people seem to prefer eggshell over gloss these days but personally, I hate it. As long as it's clean & fresh & neutral you can't go far wrong. I'm not sure what to say about carpets because lettings & selling are very different.
