Never really hear much about it. Looking to move a bit further away from London and have seen some nice properties around there. Looks lively with cinema, theatre, cafes etc (all info from Tripadvisor) but I have never met anyone from there.

If you live there or ever have, what do you think?

I lived there and enjoyed it. Good transport links to London and Oxford, shopping centre with decent range of shops, nice parks.

It's a bit run down and a bit of a dormitory town for people who work in reading or oxford but can't afford to live there.

It suffers a bit from the fact that there are lots of more upmarket towns nearby (Newbury, Wallingford, etc) and that there has been a huge amount of new development recently with more to come.

Having said that though, I know people living there who really like it - there is quite a community and the cornerstone is great.

It's alright. A bit rundown in places but cheap for the area and good transport links. If I had an infinite budget, I'd definitely go for Wallingford, Henley etc. That being said, I've got friends who lived both in Didcot centre and at Great Western Park and enjoyed it. Although I feel like nobody really plans to live their forever. It's more like a stepping stone if that makes sense.
