Please?! I'm hearing reasonable things about the scholl but the Ofsted report and tables aren/t great. I don't want to focus totally on gov. targets but i'd really like moe of an idea about it from soneone who knows the area well. We're poss. traveling down to househunt this w/e and could use some info. before we set off to helo decide what to look at.Thanks.

I dont live in the area anymore but my brother has moved from near bickington so his children didn't have to go to sticklepath or fremington. The best school seems to be newport if you can get a place.

I used to live in Ilfracombe, near Barnstaple, and IMO Sticklepath is not the nicest area in Barnstaple in which to live. It is certainly not the prettiest either. Bickington is OK, is next to Fremington on what used to be tha main road to Bideford. That road is still pretty busy which may affect what you think. I think property prices will probably be more the other side of the river, in parts of Barnstaple such as Pilton and Newport, but they are better and iirc the schools have better reputations.

Sticklepath school is quite well regarded locally but as you say Ofsted is not great. Bickington you would have to go to Fremington school and that is NOT good.
Sticklepath still better of the two options. I will email you with my phone number if you are going to be down this weekend in case you need any help.
