Hi all, I should be pleased so much if some of you would share any views about living at Hall Green Birmingham B28 area. With my family, we are going to settle down in B28 as our buying offer for a lovely 4 bedroom semi detached house has just been accepted by owner. But before that, we just have bare knowledge about Hall Green and its community. We are eager to know everything about it, including crime rate and particularly, the primary/secondary schools' enrollment situation. As our future house is located at Robin Wood land which is very close to inner circle highway A4040, is the road traffic noise unbearable? Many appreciate if any comments.

The schools are v good. Hall green secondary was v sought after, admittedly not lived in the area for a few years now.

Traffic is a bit of a nightmare. But to be honest, most of Bham is. It's close to Shirley high street, which has a great range of cafes etc. Also Shirley park is great for kids. Sarehole Mill is also a nice walk.

Thanks so much for your comments, user1471530109. Would you mind further advising me about the crime rate & road traffic noise along Robin Wood Lane close? Massive thanks.

These are the crime stats. Either Hall Green has gone massively crime-free or the police have forgotten to keep any data.Confused

Hall Green is OK. Not the best, not the worst; just middle-of-the-road OK. You can't ask for more, really! I don't have detailed information on the area but have friends who have lived there for decades i.e. it was OK, it is OK and they expect it to continue to be OK.

You seem very worried by being near the outer ring road. It's not as if it is a super-highway slashing its way through the neighbourhood unlike the M6. It's just existing roads given a designation. The number 11 bus route is actually quite handy.

Do you mean Robin hood lane? I'm not sure I know robin wood?
It is a busy road. But not all hours. Used to drive down the A34 daily and rush hour was v busy. Is the house you're looking at on the main road? If not I wouldn't worry. You soon get used to traffic noise in the distance.

I grew up there, so it’s been a few years, but as another poster said, it’s ‘ok’. It’s not very exciting and there’s not a huge amount around, but it’s good for transport links
