Anyone got a DIY kitchen painted your chosen colour?

As above, really. My husband really likes the prices at DIY Kitchens, but I don't love any of the colours really. (My ideal colour is Ikea's Bodarp green/grey kitchen, but DH has vetoed that Confused).

I know that three of their ranges you can get custom-painted, but their website says "Your builder can paint them a colour of your choice" I.e. they won't do it for you. Is that right? Anyone done this, or decided against it? Happy with your decision and the results? TIA.

I don't have any experience of DIY kitchens so no help there but I would say that getting a builder/painter decorator to paint a kitchen can be quite expensive depending on the size.

Does it come primed?

I used DIY a few years ago and mine was spray painted to match an F&B colour. It was a while ago though so I don't know if they still do it.

I don't know Confused I assume it comes ready to be painted, as that's how they advertise it (custom-paintable).

My friend just had her fitted and they sprayed it an f&b colour she had chosen.

They paint them your chosen colour, but there is a long lead time

I had my kitchen painted by DIY kitchens to the colour of my choice. Just plain slab doors (Carrera it might be called? Can't remember). Finish is very nice! Much longer lead time than the standard colours, I think 12 weeks for mine vs 4-6 weeks for standard. Was fitted two years ago and there are a couple of tiny places where it has been knocked and the paint has come off but I think that would be the case with the standard colours. They do send a little pot of the paint so you can touch it up... if I could remember where I'd put it that would be great 🙃 I would be happy to order a bespoke colour kitchen from them again. The standard colours are so dull and grey!

Ah darn, that lead-time would be far too long for us, we're hoping to be finished in a couple of months max.
Thanks all.
