Online appliance query websites - any recommendations?

I have seen an online advice site that offers 'professional advisers' to answer your queries on domestics appliances that are on the blink.

Is it worth £33 (pa) to sign up? I've not been able to find any advice online for my misbehaving dishwasher!

Most manufacturers have a helpline. If they can't resolve it, I doubt a jack of all trades adviser will be able to. I can see them sat there, Googling away while they're taking calls!

The manufacturer charges £109 for a call-out (1 hour) and parts. If I know what the problem is I can generally fix it (basic mechanical - bit not electrics - won’t touch that!) but this has me stumped.

I’d ask locally on Facebook -where I am there is someone available to fix most things

Try YouTube? If you are a bit handy you might find a helpful video. If you are me, you'll think 'you skipped 8 steps there, what does that term mean, no I can't just fit it back in, shit, I've broken it properly now' and end up paying £150 anyway.

I can usually do the basic mechanical stuff - I quite enjoy it - but this problem, when I Googled it, has loaaaaads of possibilities. Plus I loathe washing dishes by hand!

I always ask on our (brilliant) local FB group for a local repairman and he is usually cheaper than the manufacturer's repair.
