Internal door - Is it original?

Good evening!

We are renovating our house and considering stripping our doors.

Can anyone identify the following door as original? Our house is Edwardian.

I would appreciate any help! I have googled and googled, but can’t see any doors which have the grooves that are on mine.

Thanks

Incidentally bead-and-butt panelling is all the rage at the moment, and it’s going to drive future architectural historians batty.

Is your black and white floor in the hall original?

HideRanger,

Ah, that’s a good tip thank you - we will be removing all the door furniture before we get them stripped, will have a look then.

I’m already flummoxed lol, there are a few mismatched knobs and knob plates (?) upstairs, that’s going to be fun!

SwedishEdith,

Yes, it’s original (totally bought the house for the floor and the fireplaces Blush) - needs work doing as there are quite a few cracked tiles but I still love it - need to have a budget for that so will probably get to it in a few years 👀

Don't blame you - looks lovely.

It's an interesting historic door and I haven't seen one like it before.
You probably know this bit doors in that location were not bare wood. They were painted or in the Edwardian period they were also stained or patterned to look like a higher end hardwood. Certainly not left bare pine.

Knob plate Grin

Yes, I understand. I quite like the look and feel that wooden doors create in the home, especially pale or antique pine.
