Removing paint from exterior paintwork - pros and cons please

Our exterior brickwork is painted brick colour at the bottom of the house and I hate it. The top half is painted with a different colour. What's involved with removing all the colour? Does it damage the bricks? Is there anything else I should consider please?

We were going to get it all repainted but I wonder if we're better off using the money to remove the paint and we won't need to paint the walls in the future.

We have had waterproofing paint removed from our property and this has proved to be quite difficult.
It has been done by a specialist paint removal company and it took them a couple of different acid mixes to get it off.
I think it very much depends on what type of paint it is, and what finish you are looking for. We had a mixture of paint and cement render and were looking to render in lime so complete removal wasn’t essential, if you are hoping to have plain brick you would obviously want to remove any paint entirely.
Depending on the paint you may need to look for a specialist company and beware of anyone who tries to sell you another paint finish.
