Histon/Cambridge villages

Hi Cambridge!
Looking for somewhere like Histon, ideally on the guided busway or with good public transport into Cambridge, with primary and secondary schools within the village/easy to get to?

Does anywhere like this exist? Thanks!

I can recommend Linton and surrounding villages

Waterbeach? can get the train into Cambridge, there's a primary and i think plans to build another one

Waterbeach is on the train line and they are building a new town there so facilities should improve massively, not that they are terrible at the moment, though the doctors is a nightmare…. Histon/Impington are lovely, is there a reason you are looking for ‘somewhere like histon’ rather than Histon itself??

Also in my experience all the villages which don’t have secondary schools have good school bus services.

Would just like a few more options other than histon, not a lot of houses in our budget there at the moment :-)

I guess if you're looking at Histon you are also looking at Cottenham and Impington which are the next door villages and usually mentioned in the same breath

Thanks, do you know what secondary schools serve cambourne? And whether its easy to get into cambridge via public transport?

Cambourne village college is the secondary. It will also have a 6th form soon.
Very good transport (lots of buses) into town.

Cottenham Village college is pretty sought after. I don't know about the public transport but it's not much further than Histon so I would have thought similar.

It always used to be known as a good school.

As PP said Cambourne has own secondary and four? Primary schools. The secondary is an academy with Comberton and some children go there too. There is no train in Cambourne but frequent buses. Approx 6 an hour into Cambridge. I think half hourly to Huntingdon area. And also a bus to Bedford
