Help with colour for my dark North facing bedroom please

I need to paint my bedroom, is small and North facing, built in cupboards, Oak bed and dusty pink linen curtains like the picture.

The carpet is dark grey which I can't change yet but there is very little of it visible.

Bedding is white witha multi coloured patchwork quilt over the top (in muted greens blue and pinks).

I'd just paint it white but I know that's boring, but stuck on what other colour would work.

Any suggestions appreciated!

I'd consider something like Dulux Tranquil Dawn. If you Google image search Tranquil Dawn bedroom, some of the pictures show it with dusky pink and it goes well.

Omg. You HAVE to use Dulux Light and Space collection.

Believe me it’s a game changer for dark rooms. It’s like magic!! Paint the ceiling in light and space white too. Total game changer I promise!

Or go dark and embrace a cosy space? My bedroom is dark green with pink accents in a north facing room.

Workinghard thanks for that suggestion, I'll have a look at the colours in that range. I also have a dark dining room to paint so they might work there too! The ceilings are very high but I'll consider printing them too.

MrsCrem I did originally want a very dark green but we've used dark colours in two of the other rooms and I want a lighter feel for the bedroom. Haven't ruled it out yet though!

I would embrace the dark and go for something like F and B Inchyra Blue, Railings or Paean Black.

Little Greene China Clay Deep is your friend. Will go beautifully with the curtains and grey carpet.

Although it has deep in the name, it’s actually a light colour. There are lighter versions. We’ve just used it in the spare room and it looks really classy.

I have used Peignoir by Farrow and Ball. It’s a superbly feminine dusty pink/grey.

I would use pure white bed linen. Ditch anything on the bed that’s mixed colours snd dark. Use cushions in velvet or look at Designers Guild ones for a luxe look. Maybe have a throw to add colour and texture. I like shades of pink and grey with this scheme.

I’m not a fan of your curtains I’m afraid. I would rather have a Venetian blind in white. But curtains are warmer. I don’t gave any in bedrooms now. All blinds!

Denim drift by dulux. It's a beautiful blue that's sort of dark and cosy, but not navy. I had it in my previous lounge with white woodwork and blush pink. Very tempted to paint my new lounge when I can be faffed

North facing and blue can feel cold. With pink curtains?

My room was west facing and dark, the blue was cosy by night and really pretty by day

I’m not saying it’s a bad colour but the op has dusty pink curtains. It’s north facing so no evening sun. In fact no sun.

I’ve got De Nimes by F&B in my south facing dorwnstairs cloakroom. It’s stunning but would I have it in a north facing bedroom? Probablly not. However it’s fantastic where it is.

I love Denim Drift and agree it would go well with dusky pink 😍

Dye the curtains? I mean, I wouldn’t paint a room purely to go with the curtains.

I painted my whole house white, boring yes but so easy to maintain.

A navy blue would be nice with those curtains.

The op said she wanted these curtains didn’t she? I wouldn’t keep them however I don’t own them. Who dyes anything these days? I think the 60s was the last time I tried that!

I like the curtains. I want to keep them! And make the rest of the room work with them.

I recommend a warm dark teal

This is China Clay mid. A lot of pictures online make it look peachy which it isn’t. It’s a greyish pink. Similsr to Peignoir but I chose it because it had a slightly fresher look than Peignoir!
