Buying survey from previous buyers - any downsides?

Just that - any downsides with buying the survey from previous buyers?

Probably not but I think you would have no comeback if in the future something turns up that should have been identified by the surveyor - as their contract was with the previous buyer they have no relationship with you. Also things might have changed since the survey was carried out. And not sure if your mortgage company will accept a previous survey so you still face the cost of a new one.
