floor tiles not level/lip on edges

Anyone had experience of porcelain floor tiles laid and not being flat and what was the outcome? Mine are in "random" pattern/mix of sizes and have 2mm difference/2pence piece depth in places. They are mock stone and rustic look so less noticeable than a polished finish. I used a tiler who had previously done a great job laying floor tiles for me and I agreed a high price and I used very expensive tiles so was not expecting this outcome. Thank you

Anyone any experience of it not being laid totally flat?

Are the edges rounded off on the tiles or sharp edged? That would make the difference for me, are you going to snag bare toes on the edges. Also, will they break more easily?

I cant walk on it bare foot as it upsets me to feel the ridges (due to the amount it cost) but the edges are not totally sharp. Would a lip make them break more easily?

A similar thing happened to someone I know with 2 or 3 tiles and it drove them mad (not literally) eventually the offended tiles were removed (had to be broken up) and replacement tiles laid. But it was quite a faff...and created a very unhappy tiler.
