Hi all,

My DH and 2 young DC are looking to move out of SW London for more space quality of life etc. We have a budget of 650 and would like 3 bedrooms and garden with a relatively quick commute into Westminster where DH's office is about once or twice a week. My family is in central London and my DHs in Berkshire so we would ideally be within 45 mins of both.

We're looking at Walton, Weybridge, Epsom, Esher basically all of Surrey but also considering Bershkire now given our apparently modest budget.

We would also consider smaller towns and villages given they have easy access to larger towns for shopping coffee essentials etc.

We're at a bit of a dead lock as everything I love is closer into town but too small in my husbands opinion and everything he loves is too far from London for me.

Does anyone have any suggestions or any towns/ villages they recommend?

Our DD begins school in sept 22 so we need to make a v quick move.

TIA SmileSmileSmile

Depends what you mean by too small? This is walking distance to the station in Woking, needs a bit of work St. Johns Road, Woking

Reading and surrounds, quick to central London and obvs in Berkshire, sounds much easier than Woking and the like to me

Are you planning to go private for school? As application deadline for Sept 22 is mid January, you won't be able to buy in time, and will be relying on there still being a space once all the on time applications are processed!

Horsell is a large village walking distance to Woking. Lovely pubs, schools, local shops and community feel. Easy to get into London on the train or drive up to Berkshire. Lots of wonderful countryside on the doorstep alongside all the convenience of Woking town centre. Although houses tend to move very quickly there is a good range of styles and price points.

The Andover-Waterloo line is the quickest way into Westminster. Walk from Waterloo, across the river and into Whitehall in 15 mins.

Railway stations are Basingstoke (45 mins) or Woking(30 mins) for the fast train in.

You've mentioned places near Woking. You could get a larger house for your money in some of the Basingstoke/Hampshire villages. Try Kingsclere or south of the M3, maybe Upton Grey or Cliddesden. .

I suggest Guildford in Surrey or Wokingham in Berkshire

Where in Berkshire do your DH family live as it’s a big county and 45 mins drive is dependent on aiming for Slough or Hungerford.
