Hi all, we are still searching for a place to move to, and hoping for some views on Holmfirth. The scenery looks stunning, the schools seem fab and house availability/prices seem decent. Does anyone live there or know what the area is like for families? Is the secondary school good? We live in the south so would be totally new to the area and not know anyone. Thanks!

Hebden Bridge used to be arty and cheap- still is arty, but artists who haven't already bought there are priced out. Two things to look for in that area- flooding if you're in the valley bottoms, and asbestos.

Hebden Bridge isn't bad for commuting either as long as the valley roads stay open. Train links are decent too. But it is more expensive. Cheaper than Ilkley though?

Hebden Bridge is basically one road in and out and the traffic can be awful along the whole valley. That combined with the flooding means it’s nice to visit but I don’t recommend it for commuting
