I'm settling financials with the ex and it is dragging on forever- not sure if it's my solicitor or his, he tells me we are always taking too long, but I answer queries and sign forms quickly so it looks like they are dragging their feet.
Anyway, it's now down to the wire, I'm taking on the mortgage for the family home and have spoken to the bank. They can't extend the offer because it is on a product that ends in 6 weeks, through the house valuation lasts for another month.
I'm literally waiting for the other side to sign the paperwork and send it to the courts, then I can get my conveyancer to start the mortgage changeover.
How long does this sort of thing normally take? Should I start the process of getting a new offer from the bank, just in case?
