Gravel/lawn edging - any recommendations

Hi, just wondering if anybody could give me any pointers for some edging which would be sufficient to retain gravel but flexible enough to work around curves? Would need to be about 60mm or so thickness.

I keep seeing Jose looking runner, metal spiky edges and am totally confused now!

We went for pavers round our edges but fairly expensive. The flexible Metal looks good but probably better professionally installed. Not much help but we need something for our back lawn & considering pavers again but would love a rec for metal

Don’t buy Smartedge! We bought a 30m roll and hugely regret it. The lawnmower just eats up the plastic clips that are meant to hold it down. It was also a nightmare to install despite watching many YouTube videos. We have a sample of a metal alternative for a straight section which was much better, hammered straight in, and looks neater. We plan to replace the whole lot eventually. Metal wouldn’t work for the curves unless you could buy something that could be bent into shape (which may well exist!)

Everedge. Metal edging, used by national trust, looks great and seems to be indestructible.

Thanks @Purplewithred - ever edge looks good, £££ though. I need to measure my border!

Everedge here too.
It is expensive but, very robust and fairly easy to install.
Virtually invisible once grass has grown just over it and very satisfying to run edging shears along it to give a neat, clipped edge.
I used brown colour as it blends in with the soil.

Laid yellow pavers and they’ve worked brilliantly.

We finished the back of our house this summer using Everedge (black slate). Wonderful stuff. Very easy to make curves and keeps the gravel off the grass. Picture attached to show what we have done.

@Cornishgirl59
That’s a beautiful driveway, you must be really pleased

Am hoping for a similar result

Did you install it yourself?

Everedge is definitely the product to go for. It's great and not really that expensive.

Cornishgirl59 · 04/11/2021 11:56

My husband installed it himself. Because this was the original farmyard covered in black stone chippings and the lawn is new, he used a chisel to make the long holes for the Everedge to slot into and then I infilled on the grass side with earth/grass seed. This actually is not the drive but at the front of the house where there is a drive, we will be using the heavy duty Everedge which can be driven across if need be. Hope this helps.
