We have a really lovely house and workshop in a busy town on the edge of the Peak District, and a flat which we have recently evicted a tenant from.
We have two buildings which could be suitable - our main house, which is a two bedroomed detached cottage, and the building which is currently our office which used to be a hosiery factory. Both have about the same floor area as a two up two down terraced house.
A change in circumstances (caring for my partner with a long-term health condition) means I won't be able to run my current business for much longer. I need a way of making a living which means I can stay local.
I am looking at the possibility of moving into our flat, and converting the house and factory into two Airbnbs.
Is there anyone who does this? What is required for planning? We don't have any mortgages, so that's one less thing. How do you work out what the footfall is?
I'd consider selling the houses, but it seems silly not to use them if we can.
