Has anyone installed kitchen cabinets before painting?

Useless builders have meant we are on a super tight schedule before our kitchen is installed this Monday. I don't think the plaster is going to be dry in time for us to paint Friday/Saturday.

Would we be crazy to paint after the cabinets are installed? We will have time before the worktops are installed and I think we could keep the plastic on the cabinets

I’ve painted-and repainted- after my kitchen was installed.
Cutting in takes forever but it wasn’t an issue painting.

Mist coat on Sunday?

We've only ever painted after the kitchen units were installed so it should be fine, you just make sure everything is covered.

Actually we might be able to mist coat on Sunday - I'm sure I can't muck that up too much

Mist coat makes more mess, as it's thinner, so IF it is dry enough, it would be good to get that on.
Masking tape is your friend if the cupboards are in. Smile
