How quickly can you buy a property?

Asking as a FTB - saw a very well-priced property for sale at the weekend, owners desperate to sell asap so don't lose the property they are buying. (Previous would-be buyer of their property let them down.)

They want to complete by the end of this month ie less than 3 weeks away.

Does anyone know if that is even feasible??! 😮

Even if you buy the searches and surveys, the mortgage could be a problem.
We were recently buying a house and had to abandon our initial mortgage application as it still hadn't come through after four MONTHS. This was a major building society, straightforward application, relatively low LTV, not stretching ourselves financially. They were just shit. We'd thought that as we had a AIP through a broker, and all the forms had already been done, it would be straightforward. But no. They kept losing documents, asking for documents they'd already had, all sorts of nonsense. After 4 wasted months we switched to another bank and it was done in 3 days or so. Ridiculous, frustrating, and no way it could've been forecast as there was nothing complex on our end - just human error and slowness at theirs.
