Scaffolding still up- what to do?

Scaffolding still up a month after our roof has been completed, it’s in our front yard but is blocking light and obviously unsightly, I’ve paid the roofers in full and it’s obviously not their fault as they’re the middle man with the scaffolding man however they’ve told me it’ll be down tomorrow on three separate occasions so I’m wondering what you’d do in this situation? I like to make the house look pretty for Christmas and I’m just envisioning it still being up 🤦‍♀️😂

This is common - scaffolders store the scaffolding at one job while they wait for another. Then they dismantle and take it straight to the new job. It saves them having to pay storage.

No suggestions on what to do, though!

Scaffolders are indeed arseholes for this. Contact them directly and ask them to remove it.

What recently worked for me was threatening to give it away. After 5 weeks post completion I advised them I'd be offering it to any and all of their local scaffolders -that it was first come first serve. They removed it two days later

But had Monday come and they hadn't I would have posted it for free to all the builders scaffolders I could find on Facebook. It wasn't an empty threat.

I’ll be trying that one @kittenkipping. Excellent idea.

Agree with everyone else @Friedbanana. It’s really annoying - but it’s common practice to use your house as storage for their kit.

Put a post of fb saying free scaffolding, to be dismantled and collected.
Then tag scaffold company, make brew, sit back and relax..
