Window cleaner - how much do you pay?

Looking for a window cleaner in the SE (outside London) - just wondering what the going rates are and what people pay at the moment? Have been quoted £60 for a one-off, which seems a bit high to me (monthly around £30).

I remember as a child we used to get them coming round every month for a fiver! But times have changed ...

Front of the house (bay windows up and downstairs, additional bedroom window, glazed front door - £15
About every 6 weeks

The back of the house - another 3 bedroom windows plus glazed patio doors - £20
About every 6 months when he is here doing the front windows

4 bed semi plus conservatory in South West. £10 per month. Does a good job too.

Stupid question as all windows/ doors are different. You can say 11 windows etc.... they'll all be different sizes, different means of access. And as for the price going up, everything goes up. The window cleaner's expenses will have gone up (license/ insurance/ fuel/ supplies) it's all part of the price.

Paid £40 for large detached Victorian. Two sets of bays, four sets of french doors etc. Remember it's travel time as much as the time they spend doing it.

MissCreeAnt · 13/10/2021 14:38

£10 every other month. They're not very good at cleaning but they are nice and they don't piss me about.

I have paid that for many years though. I expect they'd charge at least £15 to a new customer these days. I know a couple of friends in nearby roads pay £20 and £25.

snazzynamechangetiming · 13/10/2021 16:10

£25 for Pole system every 2 months. Had been paying less for a monthly service, but it is done on house size. I have 13 windows and two lots of patio doors, but they are small, it's a small tall townhouse.

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 13/10/2021 16:12

Down south £30 for the whole house, we’ve only had them round once cos we moved in June but i think its every 3 months or so

DiaryofWimpyMumm · 13/10/2021 16:24

Is there any need to be so rude? As you can see from the responses, the prices vary wildly, and not based on number of windows/doors etc. Of course prices go up, but not that much.

Thanks so much for your valuable contribution to this thread.

Yes sorry I didn't mean to be rude.
It's just all houses/areas are different. If one person says £50 and one says £5 it's impossible to compare the two. I'll shut up now

Angel2702 · 13/10/2021 18:50

We pay £7 for front windows only. Was £5 until after lockdown.

PigletJohn · 14/10/2021 01:03

£16.50, 3-storey house, small southern town, 6-weekly.

uses a squirty pole brush.

KaptainKaveman · 14/10/2021 08:12

We pay £25 every two months for our whole house to be done front and back. 4 bed semi, several bay windows, North London.

FakeFruitShoot · 14/10/2021 10:50

£20

16 windows, 2 velux, 2 french doors, 2 upvc doors

Feels like a bargain tbh
