We rent, lease up for renewal and landlord wants to inspect property... what can we expect?

Will he want to look in every room or does he just want to satisfy himself that we're not running a whorehouse or drugs den?

Do I have to get dd1 to tidy her bedroom or shall I just dump the dirty washing from the bathroom in there?

Will he expect everywhere to be clean or just in one piece?

It's probably just to check there are no breakages or major damage. We have inspections once a year.

I do always tidy up and make the place look a bit well cared for though, because when you rent with kids it's really easy for landlords to find an excuse if they decide they want you out.

btw, ours do check every room.

They'll be checking you're clean, reasonably tidy and haven't caused any damage to the property. So yes, they'll want to look in every room.

clean and reasonably tidy? oh eck!

thanks for this, I'd better get busy spring winter cleaning
