changing a toilet seat

We have two loos in our house that are "old style" They have an oval-pointed shaped bowl & the toilet seat has hinges that go through a hole on the top to the underneath.

Basically I need to know if I can fit a top hinge toilet seat on a bottom hinge loo? Is there some sort of convertor kit does anyone know?

I replaced my loo seat recently and it came with fixtures and instructions to be either top or bottom fit.
