Buyers solicitor completely ignoring my solicitor.

So my buyers has chosen to use the worst reviewed form ever. This means my solicitor is hearing nothing from them. I am fully expecting my vendor to pull out because of the delay.

I have found out the name of the solicitors and have tweeted the owner and the company, left a comment on his YouTube channel etc.

Any other ideas? Can I name and shame them on here?

It is your solicitor’s job to chase them. Relentlessly if necessary.

She has been contacting them but nothing happens.

Perhaps the solicitor is waiting to hear back from the client?

Where are you up to in the process?

fruitbrewhaha · 09/09/2021 19:12

Talk to your estate agent, they will give the client/buyer a call. It's in his or her interests this sale goes through so make them work for their commission.

Four properties and good to exchange on three of the four. The third property in the chain has the dodgy solicitor and so not sure if they're ready or not because neither solicitor acting for sale or purchase ever hears from them.

He is but again nothing happens. I'm not sure our buyers realise that it might genuinely collapse. I spoke to my estate agent tonight and was very clear something different needs to happen because clearly phone calls and emails are doing nothing.

The reviews for this firm are dire, cannot understand why my buyers selected them.

OP it’s so stressful. We’re almost ready to exchange, but our buyers lawyers haven’t responded for three weeks. I’m ageing at a rate unlike I’ve ever seen before!

FlourishingFrisbee · 09/09/2021 19:30

Our estate agent lent on our buyers until they moved to a decent firm. I know the type you’re talking about, we (very naively) used them first time around. Not much to suggest other than the other solicitor and buyer need to push them until there’s progress.

Sympathies with you. My seller's solicitor has been very tardy at responding even though my solicitor and the seller's agent (and seller too) have all been chasing.

Can't even blame it on being some big conveyacing factory as they look to be a small local firm of solicitors!
