Freezer in the under the stairs cupboard

Is it ok to put a freezer in the cupboard under the stairs? I have no room for a freezer in my kitchen and it's unsightly in the dining room. Under stairs cupboard has power sockets, just wondering if it would be OK?

I’ve got one in mine. And a tumble dryer actually. They’ve been there three years without any issues, so I’m guessing it’s ok?!

No idea about the practicality, but it sounds a good use of space if you can.

I grew up with this.it didn’t get moved to the kitchen until it was extended when I was 17

I've seen it in lots of houses when I was growing up so assuming no issues. As a precaution, I might put some kind of waterproof flooring down (eg a square of lino) as worst thing that could happen probably is a power cut when you are away & food melting

Also, be aware that both fridges & freezers can fail and cause fires - but this can happen any where in the house -so make sure your smoke alarms are up to date

It's fine. We used to have it.

I would recommend fire proofing your understairs cupboard. That is your escape route.
