Rented property inspections

Me and my family have been renting in the same house for the last 5 years. We have inspections every 3 months which we've got used to but still fills me with dread everytime. We spend all week cleaning, putting toys away we have alot of clutter but try keep it as tidy as possible. Our latest inspection was today, usual lady came to do it who is quite friendly. The report has been sent saying carpets have marks and kitchen cupboards bit tired looking. The house could do with a general tidy up. Bit annoyed as everything has been cleaned, the carpets the standard rental property cheap one so does have a few marks. Thought they were just checking for any problems not that it's a show home 🙈😩 Not easy to keep it spotless with 3 kids

I can understand them checking for maintenance issues but they mention the carpet being worn everytime they come. There's very few issues so am sure they could do them less often I imagine they get a few for it so worth it for them

Shouldn’t be 3 monthly - try to get 6 monthly if not anually (what out letting agency does). They are generally factual i.e. noting marks/wear is just an objective description of condition, not about blame. But it doesnt feel that way so at least reduced frequency should reduce the stress. After 5 years wear and tear is very much expected - if anything it is a point the landord might expect to be doing more repairs/ replacement to keep you as happy tenants.
