Should skirting boards and architraves match?

We currently have torus architraves and need to select new skirting boards. I'm drawn to ogee, as I like the elegant wave profile, but I'm wondering if this will look odd with the existing torus architraves? Has anyone done this? All thoughts welcome. Thanks!

You can buy skirting that is torus one way up and ogee on the reverse. So you could get some and see what they both look like.

We had various bits of architrave and skirting replaced at different times by different people and none of them match any more.
I don’t notice now, and couldn’t even tell you what’s in which place, but our house (late Victorian) is a bit of a hotchpotch anyway.
