Strange item in house 360 tour...

I've fallen into the rabbit hole that is Rightmove.

I'm pretty sure this is a toy, with it being in a child's bedroom and all. But surely you'd remove it before the estate agent came to sell your house!

Not going to view the house (not just because of this, though!)

Name change because I am actually house hunting in the area...

Linky link because I'm sure you'll ask anyway...

I reckon that when you live alongside things every day you just sort of zone out and forget they’re there and that other people might notice them. I often look at Rightmove adverts and wonder why sellers haven’t moved something or tidied something or put something away because it seems glaringly obvious that you would; except it probably isn’t when you walk past it a hundred times a week!

I once posted a link to my old flat on here, and everybody focused on the Nick Smith print of a large pair of breasts in my bedroom. I see them every day, to me they’re normal!

How about this video tour - what are the mannequins all about?!

(Rightmove listing here but the link to the video tour is broken: www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/110070263#/?channel=RES_BUY)

Could it be a way of subliminally hinting "Don't even think of making a low offer." Hmm

We've been looking at a lot of listings for places in Costa Rica. We've seen a few pictures that include the family dogs. (possibly) even stranger, there are sometimes photos which show people - some look as though they live there and some are estate agents.

That house looks like what happens when two people with wildly different tastes and styles move in together and neither is prepared to compromise in any way or form.

@aguhiyori you mean the marionettes? From all the sewing equipment, I assume that is one of them’s job. Or possible theatre costume design, and the marionettes are small scale mock ups/samples.

DMIL’s house looked similar, she was a fashion lecturer and made couture clothes for dolls as a hobby.

I thought that house looked fine. Most of the clutter was obviously their personal effects, and would presumably be going with them. The underlying fabric of the house looked fairly sound, no structural features you’d need to rip out, layout was fine.

Not the marionettes in the sewing room. I understand those. I mean the (plastic? stone? can't tell) waitress/butler statues downstairs with Spitting Image-type faces! They would scare the life out of me if I stumbled across them in the dark.

The estate agent comes to photograph our house on Friday. This is definitely what I'm most worried about. 2x working from home plus kids means there just constantly seems to be stuff everywhere that no-one can see but me. Who's crazy idea was it to put the house up for sale during the summer holidays anyway?! Oh yeah, that would be me!

I would love a craft room like that - the rest I agree is a little much!

It does look like a good buy to be fair, a lot of bang for your buck...
