Victorian semi or new build home

Just wondering what style house people prefer?
We moved in to a modern house with garden from an old Victorian house and now looking to move again. Looking at new builds but the length of time waiting for them to be ready may put potential buyers off. We need to sell to reserve one and there are no rental places in our area so that's not an option.
We have come across an old Victorian house which wasn't in our thoughts at all but has made us all realise we miss our old house and having a garden wasn't as important as we thought.

Victorian semi with a garden?

DM has a modern architect designed house, MIL has a very grand Victorian house loaded with period details and filled with modern furniture, we have a 1920s house with a modern extension. I love them all. Not a fan of new build houses on estates where the ceilings are low and the rooms are small, ditto Victorian cheaply built terraces with no insulation and dark rooms.

Think about your practical requirements and room sizes and layouts and location and build quality. There's no right or wrong answer, it depends on your budget and housing stock availability in your area.

I live in a victorian (Edwardian) semi with a garden and wouldn't be happy with the standard new build 'estates" available. I'd go for a very high spec new build massive mansion detached over my house but don't have the stomach for the mortgage!
