Countertop sink basin or basin built into vanity cupboard?

Hello All,

Please could I have some advice on bathroom sink. We have space for 500mm sink vanity/cabinet.

I quite like the countertop and DP likes sink and vanity combo. Storage is necessary so both would have storage.

Im wondering if it would look silly having countertop basin for main and only bathroom in max 500m space. The sink measures 380mm and unit 500mm - could we comfortably put a handwash on countertop.

Pro's and con's for counter top sink on vanity and sink withink the vanity.

Many thanks in advance :)

Dirt collects on the groove where the basin sits on top of the unit so better to go for a flush basin unit.

House we moved into had countertop sink. It was a round bowl type one, impossible to use without splashing water everywhere. Razor/toothbrush/ soap had to go on countertop so that was always wet and needed wiping. Round bottom of bowl needed wiping. We replaced with a built in sink one with a nice ledge for toothbrush etc. Much easier to clean.

I had a countertop bowl and it was a pain, I changed it for built in. Better storage and easier to clean.

Built in is much better and does save splashes.
