What colour for the exterior trim?

I can't decide on the colour of the stonework and trim around the windows. Options are;

White
Pale cream
Darker Cream/Magnolia
Pale Grey (Polished Pebble)
Darker Grey (Anthracite or Urban Obsession)

Help! I feel totally indecisive.

What colour for the exterior trim?

Pretty terrace! I’d go cream or whatever most of the other houses have, whether that’s white/cream/darker cream. Not grey if the others don’t – ruins the line of the street and makes houses stick it (in a bad way).

God not grey. Apart from the fact they will date very quickly, grey would not in any way compliment the warm-toned bricks.

Assuming it is a very pale cream I would go for that. Ideally I'd suggest a neutral off-white.

LemonViolet · 16/07/2021 07:42

Definitely not grey!!! I love colour wherever possible but I think here even I would choose white/off-white, those bricks are beautiful and need to sing and remain centre stage. If you wanted something more ‘interesting’’ I’d choose colour (or grey, if you must Grin) for the door, and possibly dark grey for the window frames/door trim, and plant up the front beautifully with planters along the fence and hanging baskets either side of the bay window. Looks like you have gorgeous tiles in the front as well, so white stonework/dark grey window frames could reflect that black/white tiling nicely.

Not grey.

That's a very purple wheelie bin!

LivingLaVidaCovid · 16/07/2021 07:49

Not grey!

White or a cream

custardbear · 16/07/2021 07:53

Cream

Cheerio21 · 16/07/2021 08:13

White

Feel it looks fresher.

I would of been a sucker for grey but it'll stand out too much unless there's other greys on the street

BruceAndNosh · 16/07/2021 08:47

Pale cream /off white.
Any colour EXCEPT cream or white for the door

In keeping with the rest of the street always looks best on houses of this style I think. It makes the whole street look lovely.

Colour match the wheely bin. Lift the spirits of your neighbours!

(I am joking)

LemonViolet · 16/07/2021 12:24

But a purple door with anthracite door & window frames would be fab

Keep the stonework painted white

Toddlerteaplease · 16/07/2021 12:34

I guessed that house is in Liverpool before clicking the purple wheelie bin. I'm jealous op. It's a gorgeous house.

LOL! That would cause a stir!

I'm reporting back to say I went with the majority and did it a very pale cream, in keeping with the run of terraces. There are a few in the vicinity that are grey or anthracite but they don't have the red stock brickwork (I love that). I was umming and ahhing over doing it white which I think would've looked very fresh but needs to be kept pristine.

I don't live there but I've just finished a complete refurb and it is a beautiful house. Thanks for all the input - it really helped.

@Toddlerteaplease - yes it is Liverpool! I was born there and have loads of family there. It's a city with so many beautiful Georgian and Victorian houses. I love them.
