Any other recommendations?

I have two sitting rooms that both need furniture!

can you add a link to the websites?

UnfinishedBunting · 01/07/2021 22:09

I've got a Snug sofa, I really like it.

FASDE1517 · 01/07/2021 22:09

I love my snug too!

Twelvetimestwo · 01/07/2021 22:10

Lots of love for the Snug.

Which models do you have?

I cannot fathom why anyone would buy a Snug (I cannot speak for Syft as I haven't got one) if they have a regular house that you can get a regular sofa in to.

I have four (!) snug sofas (including a cloud sundae sofa bed), one snuggler and one footstool, and honestly, they are perfectly serviceable but the only reason I have them is because I have awkward rooms or difficult access. They look quite 'boxy' and there's not a massive colour choice. The tumeric is quite 'now' but I imagine might feel dated pretty quickly. The pink Is nice. The darker colours like the navy and the green are a bit old fashioned imho.

The snuggler is comfy, tbf and the footstool huge. They are probably the best products.

Really, there are sooo many lovely sofas out there, I would shop around.

The plus point is that Snug do deliver quickly. You can have a sofa up and running in literally a couple of days. They are easy to put together and feel sturdy enough but are tricky to move around a room because they seem to 'unclick' when you manoeuvre them.

The cushions are firm and don't need plumping up all the time.

The boxes they come in are huge - they won't go out with your usual recycling (unless you are in Westminster where anything goes with regard to dumping trash it seems).

Oh, and don't ask for a discount code - they never honour them (and it's only 50 quid off anyway). Their customer service is snippy but their social media presence is slick
(waves to all the snug bots on here Wink). They'll be spamming this thread soon! Or have they already....

You say you can't fathom it, but then sing their praises!

I feel like I have choice paralysis with the amount of sofas on the market and quite like the simplicity of Snug.

Which other sofas would you recommend?! I'm rubbish at this stuff

I went to the Snug showroom and was impressed with quality and comfiness! I’ve really looked around and haven’t found any I like as much as the snug rebel corner

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 02/07/2021 07:20

I’ve got a Swyft sofa bed.

It’s alright — not something I’d have in my living room but that’s probably true of all sofa beds. It’s comfy in a firm, slightly bouncy kind of way.

I feel like they’re somewhat expensive for what they are and I’m not quite sure why. Maybe the modular construction. The build quality isn’t shit but it’s a distinct step down from a sofa from, say, Heal’s or Parker Knoll.

It was easy to construct — they come in bits and you have to put them together yourself. Swyft say it takes five minutes but that’s classic marketing bollocks, it actually took about half an hour.

The boxes it came in were enormous and we had to pay extra (to a different company) to have them taken away. Which we pretty much had to do, as even flattened and folded they wouldn’t have fit in my car (which is a big SUV, so not a titchy hatchback!)

UnfinishedBunting · 02/07/2021 07:37

I'm not a bot 😄. I bought my Snug sofa during lockdown because I couldn't try it out anyway, and it was the right size and style (it's a small grey Rebel). I think the quality is good. The only thing I don't love is that there's a Snug metal badge thing at the bottom on both sides.

Yes, some people have taken it off with pliers

😄 luckily they're not bothering me too much, probably because they're not very noticeable due to the layout of the room and sofa. The grey colour probably helps too, as they're a silver coloured metal.

I’ll report back on Monday when my teal corner sofa and footstool arrive. 18 week wait for John Lewis v 10 days for Snug was a big factor.

kindlyensure · 02/07/2021 09:08

Ha - I am not really singing their praises. I just think if you have all the sofas to chose from in a regular room for a regular main sofa I wouldn't chose snug. But that is just my personal taste. Where I do have them in the house they look OK, but they are in awkward spaces (so I have a low and narrow doorway in one room, another in an attic etc).

I've had the Rebel in taupe coming up for a 18 months and its fine, but is in a light use area and just looks a bit studenty now, tbh. (and they aren't studenty prices). Also the arms are quite uncomfortable because they are thin so I have big cushions on either end.

I've got a (large) Big Chill in grey and that is better in terms of solid arms (and yeah, has the little badge!) but it just looks a bit 'workaday' and boxy. (I mean, they have to be quite boxy coz they are self assembly).
Useful for where it is (a guest annexe) but I don't think it's a thing of beauty tbh.

I've got a cloud sundae sofa bed in blue (like a rich velvet blue). The seat cushions are very thick and plump- although one is bigger than the other. Again, fine but not a thing of design beauty. The mattress for the bed is really thin though.

I've also got a couple of things in pink (snuggler/footstool and a 2 seater big chill I think.) They are the nicest tbh and I have had actual compliments about them!

I have tried to gift others my codes and also used referral codes myself but they have never worked (always been 'pending') and when I emailed snug to ask wot was occurring they were a bit 'meh' and didn't seem interested. They also didn't give me the 'free' cushions which was a promotion when I got the cloud sundae. Again, customer services were beyond disinterested. So that is why I say they are a bit snippy, despite all their yay, join the party, feel the sofa love vibe on the gram etc.

OK so update as promised. Rebel corner sofa and footstool.

Pros: Delivery on time and very efficient and friendly. The fabric is just what I was looking for and seems durable but I guess time will tell. It feels comfortable and I think it looks like a quality piece of furniture.

Cons: It takes considerably more than the advertised 3 minutes to put it together and requires some brute force. It probably took a good 30 mins just to unpack the boxes. There is A LOT of cardboard to dispose of. Even with a large car and a local tip it was quite a job to dispose of so totally see the point above re London flats.

We have an issue with the corner unit (despite brute force) but Snug Customer Services have been friendly and efficient and are sending a technician round so that’s a con and a pro right now.

serialplanner · 09/07/2021 17:25

I would love a Snug referral code if anyone has one please?

Gingerlilly · 09/07/2021 19:40

I have a snug corner sofa, it’s great. I was crippled with indecision so I bought it with a spare set of arms so I can have a different look sofa or split it into a sofa and a snuggle chair if I want. The quality is very good, makes my old sofa look like a pile of crap.

Wideawakeandconfused · 09/07/2021 20:01

We purchased the rebel sofa bed from Snug but sadly it didn’t fit in the room we needed it for. Also, the bed element wasn’t particularly sturdy - it wouldn’t retract easily and the mechanism felt quite flimsy.

As a sofa, it’s fine. Quite upright and firm. I liked the colour and fabric but overall, I didn’t like the ‘Lego’ feel to it so it’s gone back.

MarieDidders · 13/07/2021 17:50

Just joined this thread in hope of trying to decide whether to take the plunge and buy the Big Chill sofa tonight or not! Went to try in the store, it’s definitely firm but still comfy. Just a bit put off by the service people have described! But it seems everywhere is such a long wait for delivery at the moment and this seems to be available sooner Confused looked at places like Sofology etc but still mixed reviews! x

ktmlln · 14/09/2021 15:53

Hello - would anybody here be able to share a Snug discount code with me, please?

MarieDidders · 14/09/2021 16:41

I’ve sent you one :) in a private message, not sure if it works but give it a go!

Ladyrattles · 14/09/2021 16:54

I've bought a snug as they are going to deliver it the day after we move into our new house. I really liked the fact I could pick the day it's arriving. We tried DFS a few months ago but the sofas we liked wouldn't have been ready for when we move. We decided we'd be best with a fast delivery sofa. We've had Nabru sofas in the past. They are the cheap sofas in a box but we had a few issues with them in the past as you have to wrestle the boards and foam into the seating yourself. We looked at Swyft but decided the snug fabric samples were nicer.

rara81 · 20/09/2021 11:28

Hi ya, we too are looking to buy a snug sofa does anyone have a referral code they can share with me please? X

Needanewsofa99 · 09/12/2021 16:34

Hi does anyone have a referral code they would be willing to share, thanks.
