Are you allowed to get a gas supply to a leasehold property?

I have just got the forms from National Grid and it asks if I have permission to use the ground around it (unless it's public highway) and I think the landlord (which is the council I think) owns it. Well, we own it but the house is leasehold. DO we need consent to install gas? And for a meter box? I didn't really think about it before.

yes, you will almost certainly need permission from your freeholder and landowner (if they are not the same).
