Any experiences with a house buying company?

My house is half renovated and will probably take the best part of another year to complete. Also trying for work promotion which could also mean extra hours/travel etc so could also delay house jobs while I concentrate on work. But I don't know if I can live here another year due to the most awful neighbours.

So thinking through various scenarios and wondering if selling quickly to one of those 'we buy any house' type companies is an option. I realise they don't pay market value but not sure how much they reduce the price by or if there are other issues in doing this.

Has anyone had any experience of selling this way? I own the house outright, no mortgage if that makes a difference.

Have you considered auction instead?

An old neighbour got a fairly good deal for a house with a history of subsidence from a we buy any house type, but when I looked up reviews, there was a tendency to drop the price offered before completion.

Good luck

Thanks Zebra, good suggestion. Auctions slipped my mind but I've looked at auction sites myself previously and definitely worth exploring.

I think you should find a good estate agent (rare) and explain your situation, they should be able to do most of the legwork selling the house - it sounds like you need to priorities getting out of there. no point getting promoted and still being stressed with your home situ.

I believe 25% below market value.
