Home Made Perfect

I haven't watched many of these type of programmes before but I've seen Grand Designs before and this seems more accessible. I like how they are looking at problematic homes and the budgets, while not small, are not as excessive as some people spend on other programmes. I love how they can see the plans virtually before they decide which architect to go with. Angela Scanlon is great. I've only seen this series and the approach seems to be to go for the wow factor of open plan living which looks great but I did find myself thinking about the privacy factor. I also kept on asking - BUT WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO DRY YOUR WASHING?? Smile

Love the show. Very pleased to see that a greater variety of architects are being featured in the new series.

Angela is lovely! When she took the tray of tiny, cut glasses from the armoire and said, "Would anyone like a glass of sherry?" in a comical voice! Grin

Oh I just love this programme
And yes, the bench seating did get a bit boring (even with a hidden bath!)
The garden one is great too.
I 💛Angela scanlan. She's great 😊
I'm going to check out the other programme you've linked to @BrightGoldenHazeintheMeadow

@TheSquarishCircle

Did anyone see the episode from the last series where the homeowners ended up with a bath in their kitchen ?
Yes, where the homeowner was in the bath for the return visit of architect and presenter. No exhibitionism there...

DH and I thought it was because they wanted to get the son to finally move out Grin

I love this and the garden one. If you are pushed for time you can cut all the filler shots and watch an episode in about 15-20 minutes!

I must be in the minority but I don’t like the Angela Scanlon as a presenter and a lot of the designs in the last series were too way out for me. I would love for my house to get “the treatment “ though. I really like the garden designer from Liverpool who did some nice small gardens. A few years ago I went to view a weaver’s cottage and the bath was under a trap door in the living room in front of the fire . It must have been ahead of its’ time !

Yes love this show, and it's nice to see lots of architectures in the mix now.

I don't have the love for Angela Scanlon sadly, she's fine and presents well, but they could change her for someone else and it wouldn't bother me.

I felt with Roberts designs, that he didn't really take into account planning laws much or expense,(the temple in the garden)and the constant bench seating made DH think he'd spent way to much time in his childhood in static caravans.Grin
although he did do a good job with the 45° planning law one.

His designs often had a total disconnect with the garden too, massive window looking on to the garden but no walk straight out into it, like the time he put the living area upstairs, and lawned the top of the extension, but no door out onto it. instead to get to their massive garden you had to go through the sleeping area down stairs past a little court yard then through another sleeping area before you arrive at the garden, looked amazing but total PITA especially with kids.
