And if so, is it 600mm wide and if so, where the buggering heck did you get it from?! Really struggling to find one at a fairly affordable price.

Oh, and I want it to have an actual sink, rather than one of those bowl type sinks.

When you actual sink do you just mean an undermounted sink?

Henlie · 15/05/2021 19:02

Take a look at both Burlington and Duravit. They might have something.....

FrozenVag · 15/05/2021 19:03

I’ve just been through this endless hell OP

If you’re having wall mounted taps you need a basin with high sides because of the splashing.... so you end up with those naff bowls

I gave up basically and ordered a beautiful basin, quite shallow and square with big chunky taps

FolornLawn · 15/05/2021 20:08

Oh bugger. Maybe they don’t exist for a reason then.

@FrozenVag, is there more splash with a wall mounted tap than a normal one?

I’ve looked at Duravit, and they are soooo expensive. I’ll try Burlington, thanks Henlie.

Lusso Stone

minipie · 15/05/2021 20:24

Also Harvey George

FrozenVag · 15/05/2021 20:41

Yes because they’re positioned higher and I think come out further too

Henlie · 15/05/2021 20:41

@FolornLawn - Yes Duravit is expensive isn’t it(!) We have Duravit vanity/sink, but bought in a January Sale, pre-Covid though. Is this something you need to buy now, or can it wait? I’ve found that bathroom companies do seem to have good January sales 😊

mobear · 15/05/2021 21:18

I second Lusso Stone.

We had something bespoke made but that is because Lusso Stone was too modern for the bathrooms in our current place.

DespairingHomeowner · 16/05/2021 07:20

@Henlie: please can I ask what sort of discounts are available in Jan sales (more than 20% or so?)

Am pricing up a bathroom at the moment so working out best place to buy, thanks

Henlie · 16/05/2021 07:34

Hi @DespairingHomeowner - we did our bathrooms in 2018....so a lot may have changed since then, especially in the wake of Covid. From having a quick glance on the web, list prices really seem to have gone up since we were buying a few years ago.

But back then, I started sourcing everything in the January for fitting in the May. I used a mixture of online wholesalers for brands such as Villeroy & Boch. They were doing 30-40% off at the time (Superbaths, I think). Normally ends of lines though. Then CP Hart had a really good sale on and I bought some Duravit items - 25% off I think.

It’s also worth keeping an eye on your local bathroom showrooms who will from time to time sell off their display stock - normally 20-30% off the price.

I’m not going to lie, it became a full time job at the time.....we were doing two bathrooms too. Hope that helps 😊.

Sadly we can't wait til January, this is all happening in the next few weeks.

Crosswater make some quite nice ones, but again, pretty expensive. Had a look at Lusso stone, but I was hoping for a wood finish, which they don't do.

Would it look weird to have deck mounted for the basin and wall mounted for the bath? They're on opposite sides of the room.

OP posts:
minipie · 16/05/2021 12:11

Wouldn’t look weird at all IMO, the important thing is that the tap styles match. But most tap ranges have both deck mounted and wall mounted options so it shouldn’t be hard to make them match.

Motherhentoall · 16/05/2021 12:29

Look at sinks for care homes. They don’t have tap holes. It’s a NHS spec that has to conformed to so they do exist and aren’t too pricey.
Lecico is reasonable, Twyford is slightly pricier.

Good luck 😃

@LittleOverWhelmed

What exactly are you looking for? I am struggling to picture it?

Look at Roper Rhodes. I think that you can add a worktop to them (they have them or you could get your own - ie granite or quartz). Then mount a basin on top and taps in the wall?

I mean a sink with a cupboard underneath where there are no tap holes pre drilled into the sink, so I can wall mount the taps. I don't want one of those vanity units with a bowl sitting on the top.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I am checking them out!

Op if you find something you like double check on eBay

My unit in the end was 800 and I got it for half Price brand new... perfect condition!

FolornLawn · 17/05/2021 14:27

Ooh, good tip. Thanks!
