Rough cost of new upvc windows

Hello
I am interested in getting new windows and a new door.
I have 8 windows to replace and a front door.
Does anyone have a rough idea of how much this might cost. I know it varies from company-company and depending on style etc but just wanted a ballpark before i have someone round who I can't get rid of for hours especially if it's totally out of budget!!

How much do you have to spend ? Get some people round tell them what you want , then after the prices are given tell them you’ve got x amount and stick to it. Good luck

Roughly 500 a window and 1000 a door so 5k ballpark

My friend was quoted £25k for 6 windows and a new back door Shock

Needless to say she didn't go ahead with it.

We had 9 windows replaced for £5k all ground floor, some non opening, some opening. This was a mid sized local company with a good reputation.

Had a separate quote for £6k and another for £4k (which also included a door we decided not too change - that felt too cheap and the guy did the hard sell on us).

In laws are having their and from doors replaced (v high spec composite) and are looking at £1.8k each.

You'll need to add more if they need scaffolding.

12 windows and 2 doors here. Just been quoted 12k for most expensive option and 9k for cheaper option

Thank you I have been quoted £4000 knocked down from £8000 if I agree to have a board up, advertise on my business social media etc. I am happy with the price and know that I wouldn't have been offered it cheaper if I had been happy with the £8000 but wondered how it compared to other companies....and can't face another person round for a couple of hours on my day off to get another quote!!

The national companies take far too long to do a quote. I had someone from Anglia round and it took nearly 2 hours. Then the old 10% off offer as it's a day with a y in it, if you sign up in two days and have a board etc.... Their initial best price was around £12k for 2 doors and 9 windows, including a bay.

Local companies seem to be much quicker in quoting. Had one local company round, he literally ran round in 5 mins, just to see what type of windows & doors we wanted. Got a quote through the following day for just over £6k. Another company have done a quote for 1 door and 1 window by me sending photos, obviously with a view to measuring up eventually.
