How to make a safe cooking area in an attic room

The room has sloping ceilings, one velux and one dormer window. It’s separate from the bedroom.

It has a fridge and microwave. New lodger (arriving in a couple of weeks) would like more cooking facilities eg putting a hob under the velux window.

They will have occasional access to my kitchen normally but because of Covid we both want to be able to live completely separately if necessary.

I’m concerned about grease and fire safety. Wondering whether something like this or this would do the job. Not exactly an impulse purchase though.

(Adult) DD thinks putting the cooking area under the sloping ceiling where the velux is would be a good plan but I’m instinctively wanting to put it where there’s maximum head height in the dormer.

I’m also wondering about a plug in extractor venting through the velux...or something...

Anyone made their attic into a bedsit for a teenager or similar?
