Splitting hallway and landing into different colours

I want to wallpaper my hallway but not my landing. Any idea how to transition one into the other on the wall that goes up the stairs, ie the one wall that is both hallway and landing?

I think I'd probably put a picture/dado rail level with the top stair.

Eg like this wallpaper where the green wall is and paint above where it's white

I’d just take it all the way and stop at the corner. We did that with paint once and it was fine. Use a toning colour of paint though.

Our stairs have a different gradient than that and horizontal from the top stair is about half way up the hallway wall. And we have a handrail on that wall to work around.

I could do it in line with the landing handrail opposite. So the bottom third of the landing wall would be wallpapered, and the top 2/3rds painted.

What corner do you mean?

I've attached a photo. Excuse the mess and the lazy cat!

I've identified 3 points where it would make sense to put a dado rail and paper to. But only number 3 clears the handrail.

Having seen the picture I would paper up that entire wall, but paint the other two sides - assuming the paint coordinates with the paper that is!

How about paper under the hand rail with paint above, and put a dado rail at the same level from the hand rail to the front door. Assuming all other walls in the hall will be papered.
