Electric shower.....electrician or Plumber?

We have 2 electric showers, one in main bathroom and one in ensuite. Today, they both are making a really loud noise when switched on, and sound like they will explode! Water pressure elsewhere else, seems to be ok. Do you think I need a plumber or an electrician to check what's wrong? Does anyone hazard a guess what's wrong. The fact that it is both showers suddenly playing up seems like it's a general problem rather than a specific problem with shower. Any ideas anyone??

As they are both making the noise at the same time I would think it was something to do with the water rather than the shower unit. Can you wait it out a day or two to see if it stops?

I also notice that the hot water tap in downstairs toilet is spluttering...so ladyinvampervan I think you could be right that its problem with the water.....maybe water tank. At least I know now that we need a plumber! Hopefully it will right itself before Tuesday, after bank holiday.
