What should we use our new garden studio for?

Hi all,

We moved in to our new house and we were planning on using our garden studio (pictured) as an office, but DH found it a bit too chilly unless it’s warm weather (it has a heater but not quite chucking out enough warmth). Would love more ideas of what to use it for!

What should we use our new garden studio for?

Tell him it's no longer his space - he's had his chance.
Then buy a better heater and make it whatever makes you happy - and don't give him a key !

You can get some insulation and better heating.

I think I would use it as my writing room, ostensibly to write the Next Great Novel the world is waiting for, but in reality to sit gazing at the garden drinking tea and mumsnetting.

You could also use it as your sewing room, or reading room with a big sofa and a cozy blanket or two, studio for whatever arty thing you fancy, cake decorating enterprise, very exclusive restaurant, small dog groomers, or cat groomers if not plumbed for a dog sink.

Ps he might find it warmer if he closed the door, but don’t tell him that.

Everhot mini stove! Providing it has electricity.

We have a Summer house. We have magazines, crosswords, art materials, a table and three comfy chairs. A blanket for cooler days. A radio. A small wicker basket with gin miniatures. We sometimes have breakfast there on a sunny morning. It looks over the garden and at the back a lovely view. It is somewhere to plan or relax and unwind.

Does that appeal to you?

Gym ?
Some sort of art studio ?

I mean, it's going to depend what you like to do.

My thinking would be to invest in better insulation / heating system then you can us it as an office or for whatever you like.
