Kitchen is 5.5meters x 4 meters. Bright enough, floor will be the wooden look porcelain tiles, but what colour should I go for in cupboards???? I have narrowed it down to light grey or the cream colour. Worktop will be as shown for now

Just noticed I have cropped out the work surface- it is mostly white with gold/silver speckles that compliment each cupboard

Cream with antique brass hardware or blackened bronze. Look at vickiejoneshome or tobyshome both on Instagram they have creamy coloured cabinets

whenwillthemadnessend · 01/04/2021 22:19

Cream for sure. grey is going out of fashion and cream is timeless and works with any colour tile or paintwork

paperandfireworks · 01/04/2021 22:20

I'm all about caps and nobs - dreamy

The back ones look kind of green rather than grey. Hard to tell without the worktop

paperandfireworks · 01/04/2021 22:26

Both vickiejoneshome and tobyshome are exactly the style I am aiming for but they both seem closer to white than cream

Where is your cabinet from? Do you know the exact colour?

paperandfireworks · 01/04/2021 22:28

Morechoc, I don't fancy the back ones at all, just the light grey on the wooden tile sample and the far right cream one.

Definitely cream...light and airy giving the illusion of more space. Grey is just so dark and gloomy looking imho!

IdblowJonSnow · 01/04/2021 22:31

I hate cream. Looks mucky.
What about a warm green? A pale olive?
I'd go grey over cream but agree its had it's time!

floofycroissant · 01/04/2021 22:36

Cream kitchens always look grubby and yellowed to me. Grey is a good neutral.

paperandfireworks · 01/04/2021 22:41

PuffItsGone, I'm not exactly sure what the colour names are as it's small local supplier but to my untrained and ignorant eye, or in my mind anyway the choice is between dove grey and cashmere.

IMO cream is ok for the over 60's or those who are going to add vibrant colours elsewhere ( art /busy flooring/wild tiles etc ) but can be a bit meh if you don't jazz it up. Just my opinion.

gluenotsoup · 02/04/2021 09:50

Cream, will look warm with the metallic speckles in the worktop, I would agree with others that grey is just overused and on the way out

NotMeNoNo · 02/04/2021 10:02

They are both nice but slightly warm off white ,(not yellowy buttercream,) I think has more future than grey. Buy some colourful artwork or accessories.

FrogFairy · 02/04/2021 12:45

Have you considered mussel?

I haven’t bought a sample yet but so far this is my front runner for neutral coloured kitchen.

isseys4xmastinselcats · 02/04/2021 14:23

last year we were going to go for grey initially but when we saw it in reality it wasnt what we thought we would like so we ended up going for pale blue gloss but that isnt everyones cup of tea so if you are erring towards cream i would go with that as you can tone it better with other colours

thelegohooverer · 02/04/2021 21:12

Basically the cream will be a warm colour and the grey a cool colour. Are you more drawn to warm or cool colour schemes?

whenwillthemadnessend · 02/04/2021 21:39

@isseys4xmastinselcats oh I love the blue gloss Is it wickes? I'm thinking that for my utility room

isseys4xmastinselcats · 02/04/2021 21:42

@whenwillthemadnessend no its petrol blue in the altino range from DIY Kitchens

isseys4xmastinselcats · 02/04/2021 21:44

cheaper and better quality than wickes

isseys4xmastinselcats · 02/04/2021 21:48

Interesting, they both look exactly the same on my phone, hence why I thought you were talking about the back ones. Personally I like them!

Morechocmorechoc · 02/04/2021 21:54

I should add they also probably look a completely different colour on my clearly dodgy phone!!

CricketClub · 02/04/2021 22:00

I like the light grey at the back the best!
They’re lovely!
I can’t work out what the choice is! Dark grey, light grey, cream or white?
I can only see wooden flooring and tiles too... no worktop.
