This is my first ever post so I hope it works...

Wondering if anyone knows the Debden/Loughton area? My partner and I are hoping to buy soon and came across these areas. We live in North London so don’t know Essex/East London very well. We have no kids yet but hope to have some in a few years. Wondering if any of you know these areas well? Are they nice areas? Would you recommend? We would be looking to be within 1.5miles of a station.

Any information would be incredibly helpful! Thank you!!

Loughton resident here. We love it, around the main 'village' area is a lovely place to live. I honestly can say I know of zero ASB here, incredibly safe. The housing stock is nice and varied, mostly detached properties, it can be very expensive so whilst you may be able to afford your 'now' home I know of a lot of people that have to move out to get their 'next' home. If you're looking for a 3 bed up to 600K PM me, we're going on the market this month. Debden I wouldn't consider moving too.

Hi! I live in Loughton near the High St/Marks & Spencer. It's a great area. I increased my mortgage to move here from Highams Park and I LOVE it. I will stay here now, hopefully, as long as I live. The prices vary a lot in the area depending on house types and location. I think central Loughton is amazing but most areas nearby, including Debden seem good too. I think you could get a good value home on the border of Loughton and Debden just drive around a lot. I saw a great property on Alderton Hall Lane recently. Good value. Between Loughton & Buckhurst Hill is also nice and good value
