Hi everyone. I live in Twickenham and will be starting a new job which is home based. My office is in Slough but I would only need to go there once a month. I currently live in a 2 bed flat but would really like to move into a 3-4 bed house with a garden. Hoping I can get a bit more for my money by moving out of the area. I don’t need to be close to the train station anymore but would like to be close to the parks, river and restaurants. Does anyone have recommendations for Weybridge, Windsor, Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale? Thank you!

Hi used to live in the area, it depends on your age, family situation. Windsor is nice has good outdoor areas, reasonable areas and if a bit younger a good night life but also yummy mummy’s. however prices have gone up and in the best areas unlikely to be very different to Twickers. A bit further out but also easy access to Slough is Henley and Marlow you get a bit more for your money. Nice town centres good pubs and good social circuit as well as plenty of yummy mummy clubs. Avoid slough, Maidenhead and Ascot (ascot is nice but a bit the only way is Essex)

What’s your budget and do you need to be near schools OP? And do you picture yourself in a town or a village? You’ll be very close to the Buckinghamshire border so it might be worth tipping your search over to areas on the edges of Bucks. Parts of Windsor can be incredibly pricey- it might also be worth looking Marlow, Bray, Wooburn Green, Burnham Beeches, Cookham and Pinkneys Green. All a bit further out, and quite different in character; but lovely and definitely commuteable for Slough.
