Is there a cut-off time of day beyond which Exchange cannot happen?

Or just whatever time the solicitors go home?

exchange just means a solicitor agreement so yes, can happen until they go home. With the golf courses shut you may have more chance on a Friday.

completion needs money going through the banks, so cut off is probably 3pm.

Contracts are usually exchanged by both conveyancers reading out the contracts over the phone (which is recorded by both of them) to make sure the contracts are identical. So yes, it can happen at any time of day. I must have been lucky enough to get conveyancers who weren’t interested in golf, as I’ve exchanged at 16:45 on a Friday twice Grin

Does the deposit money not go down the wires on Exchange? Or the solicitors just keep it in their client accounts?
