How to get sellers EA to back off

So we are in a small chain, and looking to move ideally at end of April. Our seller is buying a new build and the developer originally wanted them to complete at end of March. That was never a realistic deadline for us, even before stamp duty extended the our solicitor advised was not reasonable as they had all other work they were completing as a priority. Sellers EA is very persistent, saying they now want start of April. We have said end April works better for us, and we also dont know what date our buyer is working towards. What can we tell their EA that will make them (and the developer) cool their heels? Sellers work will be busy in April, which is why they also want early April, but we have deadlines in March! We will be speaking to our solicitor also. Is it worth pointing out that if we came out of process, they would need to find a new buyer and not complete ag their suggested time? And should we tell their EA to just talk to our solicitor as they have more idea of progress and their own work load? Any advice welcome. Thanks in advance.

It will be the developer putting the pressure on and EA just wants it off his desk.
I’d do as you said and tell them if they don’t stop pressuring you then you’ll pull out as you cannot do the date they want and they can take it up with your solicitor.

I've bought and sold lots of times. On virtually every occasion I've found it preferable to deal only with my solicitor. Other people's (and our) estate agents getting involved complicates things. It's a legal transaction and I'd just tell them to get the vendor's solicitor to deal with yours. Their EA shouldn't be speaking to your solicitor, just ask the communication to be via solicitors only.

Completely disagree with the above. Communication is key and unless you have a brilliant solicitor with not much else to do your best off keeping comms going yourself.

I would just ask your buys for a date and then relay that into to their ea. Just tell them like it is

Communication is key I agree. So I'd only every use an excellent solicitor, and the fewer people passing information around, the better.

Thanks all. Have asked solicitor to tell the EA to get the solicitors to talk to each other. I get why the EA is pushing re dates, but she was quite forceful and pressuring. Just pissed us off a bit. So we will push back.
