Dilemma - should I remove picture hooks/nails before moving out?

We're moving soon and I don't know whether to remove hooks/nails from our walls because the plaster is so flaky in our house. It could look awful if we take them all out, but I don't want to leave them there if it's bad form. WWYD please?

Not a clue what the 'form' is but all the picture hooks were left in our house when we moved in and they're still there now for the most part, 11 years later. Very useful thing to leave behind in my opinion.

I’d rather have the hooks than not.

Leave them. Your buyers will most likely use them. I left the picture hooks whenI moved, my seller left them in the house I moved into. Not something to worry about!

Yes, I don't know what the 'form' is either - it's a long time since we last moved house! But thank you for your thoughts - that makes me feel better about leaving them in Smile

I've used all the ones the previous owners left. Obviously some may not be in the right place for them but I'd rather have them left in than ruined walls to fix.

Removed 34 painted over rawl plugs from one room this weekend, that was fun. Don't mind having picture hooks, it's nice to hang some art when you move in even if it's not its permanent location

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I feel so much better knowing this. I'll leave them where they are Smile

If you've only got a few then I'd just leave them.

But perhaps of you have lots/they look really unsightly then remove, fill and 'make good' the wall :)

Our sellers left theirs though seem to have painted them all - its fine, much rather have that than damaged walls.
